IT professional planning to move to Canada?

Ian Kinsella 09.05.2018

Find out why Canada is one of the most popular destinations for Irish IT workers to move to.

Would you consider moving to Canada?

Canada is facing a huge shortage of tech talent and it’s expected the country will struggle to fill as many as 180,000 jobs in this sector by 2019, including 50,000 in Toronto and 35,000 in Montreal.

Many global tech giants are building offices in Canada, and the startup ecosystem is proving increasingly lively and promising. Look no further than the Toronto-Waterloo corridor (aptly coined Silicon Valley North), where more than 5,000 Canadian startups have set up offices, all led by talented entrepreneurs with ambitious ideas.

Did you know that Canada now has a new work visa that can take as little as 20 days to get approved?

Because of the shortage of developers and software engineers in Canada, the government recently implemented the Global Talent Stream, a new work visa specifically targeting companies hiring tech workers that takes 3-4 weeks for approval. This means more Canadian companies are willing to hire foreign developers, since it's so much quicker and easier.

If you're a software engineer who is seriously interested in a job with a market-leading Canadian tech company, we'd love to help you discover some of these opportunities

Morgan McKinley recently launched Morgan McKinley Technology, newest recruitment hub in the centre of Toronto. For us the opportunity to be part of the Canadian technology sector was an exciting opportunity and we hope you can be too.
