A newly created opportunity for a Technical Program Manager has arisen within an American multinational technology company located in Leopardstown.

This team is seeking a Program Manager for a role which requires creative thinking, strong communication and analytical skills, as well as an ability to understand technology and business opportunities.

The role requires an ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications and deliver them in a successful and timely manner.

You will need to understand the architecture of large-scale web systems and have solid working knowledge of how web products are developed.

Specifically, this role encompasses the scoping, crafting, and implementation of a content management system which allows publishing, editing, modifying, organizing, deleting and maintaining content from a central interface. Highly skilled users including content managers and data analyzers will spend several hours per day in the system which is shared by hundreds of users across global markets.

You will be building large-scale news services and tools that are collectively impacting hundreds of millions of users around the world.

Experience indivuals who have experience developing software-based tools and services who are highly effective communicators and can be influential in the organization. The applicant should be interested in and committed to solving real business problems.

Work in close collaboration with UX design and engineering to create an exceptional user experience for the content publishing system.

This role requires strategic and creative thinking as well as an understanding of the technology and the business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' commercial software development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management.
  • Experience with developing backend Services.
  • An understanding and appreciation for highly scale-able distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the media industry a distinct advantage.
