Morgan McKinley are representing a well-established, domestic financial institution to recruit a Tax Specialist for their Group Tax team in Dublin.

The Group Tax team are responsible for ensuring the group complies with its tax obligations and advises the business units on tax matters. The team is also responsible for the development of the strong control environment across all tax types.

Reporting directly to the Tax Manager, the Tax Specialist will be responsible for providing support and technical tax advice to business divisions and management on a wide range of consultancy matters.

The successful candidate will have day-to-day involvement in providing tax advice to key personnel within the group to assist in meeting the group's strategic objectives. The role will allow for professional development in a wide range of domestic and international tax matters.

This is a perfect opportunity for newly qualified tax consultant to gain valuable industry experience in a fast paced, financial services environment.

The ideal candidate will be newly AITI/ACA qualified. Financial Services tax experience is preferable but not essential.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Providing support and tax technical advice to business divisions and management on a wide range of consultancy matters.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of various tax returns and tax computations for the group.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax provisions to meet GEL's quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with business units/divisions.
  • Keeping up to date with current tax legal/and regulatory requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Professional accounting AND/OR tax qualification (AITI/ACA).
  • Big 4/Top 10 experience is preferable.
  • The ability to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and as part of a team in a demanding environment whilst meeting tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to use initiative & demonstrate a willingness to learn.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret new legislation/regulations and financial information.
  • Have the ability to prioritise tasks while working within tight deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written incorporating an ability to communicate technical concepts and the ability to interact positively with clients internally and externally.
  • Strong end user computing skills MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
