Senior Supplier Engineer

A dynamic senior engineering role within a diverse team, focused on the improvement of existing processes and effectively introducing new products to market.


The Role

In this role you will work with a high achieving team, your main focus will be to challenge the status quo on all processes relating to supplier engagement.  With a goal to improve and enhance processes to assist with cost saving, time efficacy and overall to build on an agile delivery. You will work with cross functional teams across finance, Supply chain, operations and production.  You will also lead by example by mentoring and coaching junior engineers on the team in a global-leading medical device industry.



  • Investigate and assess current supply chain, materials and overall supplier process
  • Analyze the cost modeling and efficiency of products and processes across a large medical device manufacturing site in Cork.
  • Perform agile cost sprints across the site
  • Collaborate with an internal manufacturing partner, contractors, and designers to optimise the design for production
  • Develop and carry out fitness-for-use testing, reviewing specifications and materials
  • Investigate, develop and lead projects across NPI, material validation and material cost-improvement 
  • Shape and develop plans for team members and performance managment 


The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a level 8 engineering degree along with a minimum of  5 years’ experience in a similar role that demands continuous process improvement and cost saving initiatives.  Strong exposure in a role relating to supply chain and materials managements is ideal but not essential. You will be people-focused and passionate about working in a collaborative team environment and enjoy mentoring and coaching engineers.
