Quality Manager Opportunity - Medical Device - Cork/ Kerry

I am excited to be working alongside a well-known Medical Device company in Cork. This is a newly created position where they will be leading the Operational Quality and Operational Compliance out of the Cork site. This is a permanent role and will be sitting on the Site Leadership Team (SLT).

The main duties of this role are to lead the Quality Operations department and to provide expert Quality support to manufacturing operations, through developing and leading a team of Quality personnel. This is a people leadership and management position where the successful individual will have direct reports and dotted lines into them. Previous people management experience is essential in this role.

This position encompasses; quality, compliance and operations along with managing and regulating the business and the budgets of the department. There are a number of NPI projects landing on site this year so having experience with Validation and NPI would really stand to you.

Key elements of this role:

  • Represent Quality through all product and process changes/improvements to help ensure product manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the site quality system and product quality ensuring compliance to governing regulations and global policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage all tasks and activities related to Quality Operations within the site. Providing daily hands on technical support to the quality team.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring in all areas of the QMS to all the Quality Operations team members.
  • Participates in NCE's, CAPA's & Customer Complaint investigations when necessary
  • Overall responsible for all decisions relating to product quality including the disposition of non-conforming product.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's in engineering or another Technical degree
  • Proven track record in a similar role with a minimum of 8 years' experience within the Medical Device or related industry.
  • Good coaching/mentoring skills - experience leading teams previously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team building skills with proven abilities in decision making and sound personal judgment.
