Senior Data Management Analyst - SAP

Summary of Position:

The Data Center of Excellence (Data CoE ) is part of the broader Business Intelligence Center of Excellence and is responsible for ensuring corporate wide standards, policies and procedures around data quality, accessibility, business definitions and security are implemented and monitored.

The data CoE is also responsible for finding and developing "pockets of excellence" throughout the organization, thus, deploying a "federated CoE" within the enterprise and at the same time building a firm Community of Practice, framework. The result, is, alignment to centralized policies, procedures and standards, but the freedom to "operate at the speed of business"

The Senior Data Management Analyst is responsible for documenting and implementing data standards, maintaining Data CoE master and reference data portfolio guaranteeing metadata is captured correctly, and creating methods for monitoring and reporting any data incidents including creating quality standards dashboards and scorecards Also creates and maintains common data dictionaries and the tools or methods that support data standards for an organization.


Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Assist in the definition, establishment and documentation of standards as well as cross application integration policies and procedure for data conversion, quality, maintenance, cleansing and security in order to maintain the integrity of the enterprise data
  • Analyse enterprise data warehouse for data quality and process non-compliance trends and create presentation tools that highlight findings to senior management
  • Conduct periodic data and process audits
  • Participate in the evaluation of technologies and tools that supports the establishment of a modern enterprise wide data management organization
  • Participant in establishing the enterprise wide data governance model including the establishment of Master Data Management As a Service
  • Provide input into Data Governance Council and extended Community of Practice
  • Update and administer the Business Data glossary and Dictionary
  • Update and administer Master Data governance, data cleansing and unification tools
  • Maintain central master and reference data falling within the Data CoE portfolio
  • Participate in instituting and enforcing policies and processes across the data landscape that ensures Aptiv is in compliance with European GDPR privacy laws
  • Generate data reports on periodic basis for management and customers
  • Interact with customers and other teams to obtain data requirements for new and existing applications
  • Participate input to data definition workshops

Qualification & Educational Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position has deep experience with data warehouse technologies and practices. He/she will have the following experience and expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of business, accounting, computer science, or field with equivalent benefit
  • SAP functional expertise in Supply Chain, Finance or Sales is a plus
  • 3+ years' experience in data management , master data governance and data quality initiatives including process mapping and the facilitation of common business definition workshops
  • A minimum of 2 years hands own experience in data warehousing business intelligence or analytics including the creation dashboards and scorecards
  • Superior communication, leadership and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated detail orientated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (technical and non-technical)
  • Ability to create constructive relationships, influence, and communicate to multiple stakeholders, including customer management, IT management, and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a high-intensity, multi-project environment, with the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with unstructured data set (i.e. data lakes, time series data) is a definite plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously towards a goal
  • Proven ability to prioritize issues across multiple projects
  • Data modelling skills including SQL or other database language
  • Proficient in one or many Master data management tools (E.g. SAP MDG)
  • Proficient in one or many of reporting tools like Qlikview, Cognos, OBIEE, SSRS. Tableau
  • Proficient in one or many of ETL tools like AbInitio, Informatica, SSIS, DataStage
  • Bright and intelligent individual who deals with concepts and complexity comfortably
