Due to the continued growth and success of an extremely reputable organisation based in South Louth, I'm looking to speak to all R&D Engineers, Senior R&D Engineers and R&D Managers looking to move into a new and exciting challenge. Fantastic opportunity has just become available for a well renowned global organisation that specialise across the area of Consumer Electronics.

About The Position

Reporting to the Technical Director and working within a well-established Design Team, as an NPI Lead you will be responsible for developing new consumer electronic products being released onto the market within a new division of the business. You will also focus on understanding and anticipating the changing needs of the consumer needs to drive and spearhead the introduction of such product introduction which will include new integrated technologies and systems.

Some responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Develop, motivate and lead a diverse technical development team to ensure necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours are in place to create new innovative solutions
  • Ensure together with the other members of the R&D team that projects are delivered in line with agreed scope and time
  • Assist with the development and constant improvement of appropriate test facilities, data processing and product validation
  • Support continuous improvement activities to consistently improve company's project range
  • Analyse and understand building regulations standards and other legislative requirements in order to inform future strategic development of new consumer electronic products that are being released to the market
  • Engage with the commercial team and other stakeholders to identify new innovations and product opportunities
  • Attain product certification of products to be aligned with company SOP's

About The Person

For this role, the Engineering Team require a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or similar related discipline and a minimum of 5 years' R&D experience in the Electronics industry. Due to the product range of the company, the successful candidate will need previous experience in heat pump, heat transfer, hydraulic heating or cooling systems.

It is also imperative that you have strong interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will also need to have an an enquiring mind with an analytical approach to problem solving and an ability to visualise simple solutions for complex problems.

Previous exposure to managing projects from start to finish is extremely advantageous where you were ensuring projects are completed to a high standard and on schedule. Finally, the successful candidate will also need to have the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, be positive, driven and be able to work with minimum supervision.
