NBI - Head of Product Management

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) will be the designer, builder and operator of the ultrafast broadband network for rural Ireland. It's vision is for a world-class, gigabit-speed broadband for every home, farm, school and business in areas of the country that are not fully served by commercial operators. It guarantees a level playing field for 1.1million people, 540,000 premises including 100,000 businesses and farms and over 600 schools.

Rollout will commence in Q4 of 2019, with most premises being passed in the initial 5 years, with the full project completion at 7 years.

One of our first hires is the Head of Product Management - Working with the wider commercial team you will support the successful on-boarding of service providers and ensure the in-life product processes enable NBI to meet their take up and revenue targets. You will be accountable for the product roadmap of all products, tracking their performance in the market and liaising with the wider commercial team and service providers to maximise take up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the launch of NBI's Full suite of Fibre to the Home (FttH) products starting with the key high-volume broadband products.
  • Responsible for the development and in-life management of NBI's full FttH product suite
  • Interfacing with the technology, and IT teams to develop the provisioning, assurance and billing processes that underpin the products.
  • Chair NBI's product forums where you will track product functionality, manage & prioritise change requests and present product roadmap updates and capture new product requests
  • Support marketing and demand generation initiatives through the sales channels with forecasted and measured results
  • Keeping product library up to date and communicating with sales and service providers to ensure awareness of product features and functionality

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree with a strong Business/ Engineering base with 12+ years of experience within the telecommunications or IT sector
  • Relevant experience in a head of portfolio/ head of product management role, with a track record of commercial and/or technical achievement, ideally within a telecommunications or managed services organisation.
  • Experience working with Commercial and Finance personnel to ensure clear product positioning, price lists and cost bases for a suite of products
  • Presentation skills and experience presenting products and concepts to a technical audience.
