Overview

National Broadband Ireland (NBI) will be the designer, builder and operator of the ultrafast broadband network for rural Ireland. It was established by Granahan McCourt (GMC), an international investor in technology, media and telecommunications with 30 years of experience partnering with governments, corporations and people to drive development of communications infrastructure.

NBI has presented its vision for world-class, gigabit-speed broadband for every home, farm, school and business in areas of the country which are not fully served by commercial operators (the "Intervention Area"). National Broadband Ireland will supply broadband to the one quarter of Irish people and premises which currently cannot access high-speed broadband through commercial services. It guarantees a level playing field for 1.1 million people, 540,000 premises including 100,000 businesses and farms, and over 600 schools.

The Role

The NBI Agile Project Manager (Analytics Stream) looks after a group of projects within the Operational Environment - Analytics / Performance Mgt Stream (KPI's/SLA's) within an SAFe Agile environment, the role actively manages those projects collaborating with our partner project managers.

The individual will typically benefit from having solid project management skills experience working in an Agile environment having a proven track record in managing Agile based projects in the past.

  • Should be comfortable to work with any of the Agile modules, NBI is using SAFe
  • Ensure that the scrum team adheres to scrum theory, practices and rules, and work as a leader within the project team
  • Conduct training sessions for the team members and explain to them using the agile methods
  • Handle various responsibilities such as planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing all aspect of the project
  • Provide project and resource support to the NBI Portfolio Product Owner
  • Ownership of the Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions (RAID) Log
  • Decide deadlines and budget of the project accordingly
  • Interact with NBI team members e.g. business analysts, product management and operations
  • Maintain status report of the project and also keep a record of the previous reports
  • Present status reports of the project to the senior officials of the organisation
  • Help in the development, improvement and implementation of agile projects within NBI
  • Assist in team development by removing road-blocks to their work, mentoring them and making a good utilisation of organizational resources to improve capacity for project work
  • Promote empowerment of the team by ensuring that each team member is fully engaged in the project with meaningful contribution
  • Encourage a sustainable pace with high levels of quality for the team.

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology - About five years of experience in Agile project management field is also required
  • Experience with Atlassian tools JIRA etc
  • Experienced preferably certified Scrum Master, with experience of other project frameworks such as Lean, Kanban, etc..
  • Experience in BSS/OSS deployments
  • Experience in technologies and policies relevant to FTTH deployment
