Mechanical Design Engineer - Dublin

Are you degree qualified in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Automation or Aeronautical with extensive experience across Mechanical Design? Does the appeal of working with an array unique and diverse client who are looking to come up with innovative and cutting-edge solutions interest you?

Due to the fantastic expansion of my client, I'm working very close with the Engineering Manager of an extremely innovative and forward-thinking organisation who design, develop and manufacturing cutting edge technology that is used within the Aerospace and Automotive industry. Due to this exciting expansion, my client is now looking to introduce a new member of their well-respected Mechanical Design team. The role is an extremely interesting position where no two days will be the same. Outside of working on bespoke and cutting-edge technology, the successful candidate will move into a role where no barriers are placed on professional progression where micro-management is non-existent.

About The Position

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be tasked with having much responsibility within the complete product development lifecycle, from idea generation, to producing mechanical 3D designs through CREO, to final qualification and supply to the customer.

Some additional responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner
  • Manage entire projects from conceptualisation stage all the way to manufacturing
  • Generate, develop and produce conceptual designs and ultimately producing detailed engineering design solutions
  • Generate 3D CAD models through CREO of components and assemblies
  • Conduct engineering analysis, sizing, calculations and materials selection used within the design process
  • Generate analytical models, formulate predictions of development test results to aid the design process. Manage product testing and qualification activities
  • Liaise with Project Managers to compile schedules, prioritise tasks, and strive to achieve project goals and deadlines
  • Interacting with other departments as part of the design process to ensure relevant points are captured and knowledge is shared

About The Person

For this position only Mechanical Design Engineers with a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Aerospace or similar related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' post grad Mechanical Design experience will be considered. Previous experience in utilising CREO to generate 3D mechanical designs is highly beneficial but not essential as other software design packages will also be considered.

It would be highly advantageous if someone had previous exposure and familiarity to the design and development of valve or other fluid control products. Additional to this, experience with LabVIEW and ANSYS would also be beneficial.

Finally, the successful candidate will also need to be highly motivated and looking to move into an autonomous position with no micro-management.
