About The Position
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be tasked with having much responsibility within developing mechanical 3D designs through Solidworks/Siemens NX for a range of existing and new products being introduced into the market.
Some responsibilities will include ensuring all work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner; provide technical ownership across the area of mechanical, electro-mechanical and automation design of medical equipment whilst also providing ownership with designing assemblies, fixtures, jigs, parts and test equipment for such equipment; Troubleshooting to analyse problems to root cause resulting in solutions; Creating BOM's (Bill of Materials) and ensuring SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) are adhered to; Provide technical assistance across key technologies in instrumentation and automation including moulding, electro-mechanics, electronics, fluidics, metal fabrication, sensors, optics etc…
About The Person
For this position only Mechanical Design Engineers with a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering will be considered, ideally qualified to a Master's level with additional qualifications within modern manufacturing disciplines such as Lean Manufacturing, A3 Problem Solving Solutions, Lean Six-Sigma, Design Robustness Principles. The successful candidate will also need at minimum 4 years' Mechanical Design experience. Previous experience in the Mechanical Design and redesign of automated machinery and equipment is highly beneficial.
Experience within 3D Design packages such as Solidworks or Siemens NX is essential. Finally, the successful candidate will also need to have strong communication skills with the ability of providing feedback on Design and Product improvements to a cross functional team.
