The Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the designing, developing and verifying of complex, sophisticated medical device products throughout the product design life cycle.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be an integral part of one of the worlds' most globally recognised Medical Device companies. Reporting into the R&D Manager, as Mechanical Design Engineer you will gain exceptional experience within a globally recognised organisation who promotes in-house advancement due to their supportive structure.

Some responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

  • Design, develop and verify of complex, sophisticated medical device products and packaging throughout the product design life cycle
  • Designing electro mechanical medical devices
  • Assess and execute product engineering regarding implications for function, fit, cost savings, compliance etc
  • Lead structured problem solving and root cause investigations
  • Develop and test prototypes
  • Hands-on design of testing equipment and creating of test procedures to ensure compliance of product regarding internal and external requirements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing plants to assist in non-conformance issues with the products and identify creative solutions to problems in a timely manner
  • Interacting with other departments to ensure relevant points are captured and knowledge is shared.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' industrial experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment and a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering, ideally within Mechanical or Biomedical. You will have the ability to witness your designs being manufactured so previous experience in a design to manufacture facility is essential. The ideal candidate will also need experience within 2D drawing generation, geometric dimensioning and 3D CAD modelling.

Finally, the successful candidate will also need to have strong communication skills with the ability of providing feedback on Design and Product improvements to a cross functional team.

Outside of the above requirement, the following would be beneficial but not essential:

  • Understanding of Electronic or Electro-Mechanical devices
