Compliance Monitoring Advisor

As a member of the Compliance Monitoring team you will be involved in the following activities:

  • Planning individual assignments, this will involve gaining an understanding of the controls in place to implement relevant legislation in the area under review;
  • Developing detailed test plans to assess the effectiveness of the relevant controls;
  • Carrying out detailed tests to determine the robustness of the controls;
  • Testing adherence to regulation and the KBC Group Compliance Rules.
  • Discussing with management the outcomes of the testing;
  • Drafting and presenting reports on the results of the tests;
  • Assisting with other Testing / Reviews / Investigations as required;
  • Tracking progress and validating results of action plans to address findings raised; and
  • Completing the annual risk assessment for the Bank and designing the annual risk-based compliance monitoring plan in line with KBC's methodology;
  • Collaborating with the Compliance team to continually improve your own performance and the performance of the Compliance team in its entirety.

Knowledge, Education & Experience:

  • A professional and business / finance related 3rd level degree;
  • Demonstrable experience in performing assurance related reviews previously (in a compliance monitoring or internal audit capacity)
  • Professional qualification (e.g. qualified accountant) advantageous; and
  • Big 4 back ground advantageous.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience in the delivery of assurance related monitoring plans and reporting;
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail and factual accuracy to ensure outputs are right first time;
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter, who can work on their own and as part of team;
  • Strong understanding of Compliance / Regulatory legislation;
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Central Bank of Ireland's expectations of effective compliance monitoring;
  • Pragmatic, inquisitive, professional who is looking to further their career;
  • Must operate with integrity and independence;
  • Strong interpersonal skills; and
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
