Italian Financial Controller - Cork

Role Overview

Qualified Finance professional with Italian markets exposure responsible for leading a team of accountants in a financial reporting, general accounting projects and finance function migrationary environment. This role is particularly attractive for those that have people leading experience and wish to excel further in a supportive, leadership focused corporate setting.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Accounting Director the Italian Financial Controller will take responsibility for the delivery, consistency and streamlining of the below key responsibilities whilst coordinating and managing up to 5+ accounting/tax professionals.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Co-ordinate and oversee month-end closing process for key entities in the global business unit.
  • Preparation for internal and external auditors related to SOX, interim, statutory and year-end financial statement audits including relationship management
  • Work with local controller organization to understand activities happening in key affiliates
  • Investigation work around revenue, cost and balance sheet fluctuations to understand and document drivers
  • Deliver trial balance package and fluctuation analysis to financial director/local controller for local sign off
  • Monitor and Review key metrics and service level requirements. Follow up and resolve performance issues.
  • Work with the team, the local controllers, other support departments and our third party service providers to help resolve any issues promptly and ensure that the relevant parties are informed and involved where appropriate

Your Background

The successful candidate will be an accounting professional with extensive people management skills, some knowledge and understanding of large finance multinational organisations, a strong compliance focus and ideally a background in a multinational setting. Italian markets experience is ideally required here along with business

Some key specifications you should have:

  • Qualified Chartered/ Public Accountant and/or Qualified Tax Consultant
  • Previous people management experience highly desirable
  • Experience to a multinational environment in an Audit or Financial Reporting context
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Identify barriers/solutions to implementing process improvements
  • Ability to address and resolve conflicts
  • Language skills an advantage, Business fluency Italian is desired
