I am thrilled to be bringing a unique and exciting opportunity to market within a Cork-based independent Not-for-Profit association with a local, regional and national presence.

A new position to the organization, the General Manager will lead the Support Office Team with full responsibility for the day-to-day operations across a wide range of business units.

The primary areas of focus include People Management as well as Operations & Commercial Management.

While no two days will be the same, the realising of long-term objectives will include tasks such as the following;

  • Providing leadership to all staff in an empowering and developmental way, embodying the organisation's values.
  • Efficient allocation of resources, in accordance with team members' strengths and development.
  • Working with the CEO, President and Management Team to deliver agreed strategic plans and objectives
  • Managing the day-to-day operations in the office including HR, Finance, Event Management, Systems Management, Governance, Health and Safety
  • Reviewing and presenting performance data (financial, sales and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and productivity up to Board level
  • Managing existing portfolio of services offered to members, as well as identifying and scoping out additional service offerings with a commercial objective.
  • Co-ordinating financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency with the Finance Team
  • Evaluating current business processes and systems and understanding emerging trends.
  • Ensuring the board of directors are adequately briefed in relation to all relevant matters

The ideal candidate will be an experienced people manager, used to working in a diverse and dynamic environment. You will be used to collaborating with key stakeholders on a daily basis and will feel comfortable networking with your peers on a national level.

Although a Not-for-profit organisation, you will be used to working in an innovative and forward-thinking commercial environment.
