Director of Financial Effectiveness - Leadership Role

Director of Financial Effectiveness

Specific responsibilities of the Director will include winning and delivering engagements in this Sector to a high standard, leading project teams on assignments, dealing with client issues, providing direction to the team, taking responsibility for the project finances and coaching and developing staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with current and potential clients across all sectors and building relationships
  • Developing a strong understanding of the market and the role of our Finance Effectiveness ("FE") proposition to deliver added value to our Clients.
  • Maintain and further develop expertise and personal profile in the Finance domain
  • Preparing and submitting financial effectiveness related proposals
  • Supporting the team in developing the Firm's proposition in the sector, developing team capability and expertise
  • Engaging with the firm to promote the Finance Effectiveness offering and develop cross line of service propositions as a joint go to market strategy
  • Winning assignments, particularly in the areas of finance consulting, transformational programmes and mandatory change
  • Influential member of the Financial Effectiveness management team
  • Leading project teams and providing on-the-job learning and coaching
  • Delivering challenging client projects, managing project performance and programme quality
  • Drafting practical thought leadership articles and publications in the Finance area
  • Supporting business development initiatives
  • Carrying out other ad hoc support and projects.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

Any primary degree, grade achieved at least 2.1

MBA or further studies - would be desirable

Qualified Accountant, preferably FCA with Big 4. If not a qualified accountant, must be able to demonstrate strong expertise in the given domain, not less than 10 years relevant experience

Recognised Project Management Qualifications -would be desirable

Experience Required:

  • 12+ years in Finance function operational and leadership roles, along with a minimum three years related consulting during that timeframe
  • Experience of working in and / or with large scale organisations in the Finance function
  • Experience in delivering consulting engagements, including Finance function restructuring
  • Excellent understanding of general business practices
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in leading and developing a team for growth and growing a business
  • Experience in managing a team of resources on multiple assignments running simultaneously
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff
  • Comprehensive reporting and presentation skills essential
