About The Position

Fantastic opportunity for an Applications Engineer to move into a Projects focused position and gain invaluable experience. Also, this opportunity will give the right individual to move into a challenging but rewarding new position where no two days are the same. As Applications Engineer you will be tasked with having much responsibility within being the main point of contact between the company and its clients across managing new and upcoming projects.

Some responsibilities within the position will include but not limited to the following:

  • Reviewing tender documents and specifications received from clients and providing subject matter knowledge on each area
  • Preparing product designs to customer specifications
  • Preparing documentation to enable equipment to be manufactured
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including subcontractors and suppliers and to obtain costing for product design process
  • Preparing detailed technical and commercial proposals in accordance with company standards
  • Facilitating hand-over to Project Manager's upon completion
  • Provide technical leadership to colleagues as required

About The Person

For this position only Application Engineers with a 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or similar related discipline will be considered. The successful candidate will also need a minimum of 1 year post grad experience in a Project related role, managing projects and handling technical negotiations with external stakeholders. A prior knowledge of design codes or hands-on design experience would be a distinct advantage.

The position isn't a sales focused role but previous experience as a Technical Sales Engineer would be highly desirable. Previous exposure to managing multiple projects simultaneously to one another would be required and due to this the successful candidate will require strong organisational skills.
