I recruit for qualified Accounting and Finance roles in the Commerce and Industry sector.
When embarking on your job search you firstly need to be clear on the type of job you are searching for and the type of organisation you want to work for. Clearly defining your job search will enable you to be more focused and essentially save you time. Ideally you should prepare a CV that matches your experience to this type of role. Alternatively if you are interested in more than one type of role it can be worthwhile to tailor your CV to suit the different roles. Remember your CV is often the first impression you make in the market so take the time when preparing it to ensure you are making the best first impression possible.
After graduating with a B.Sc in Retail & Services Management from Dublin Institute of Technology I embarked on a career within retail management which saw me gain experience in Dublin, Melbourne and London.
Steady progression lead me to becoming a Branch Manager which meant I was both responsible and fully accountable for all aspects of the business. I achieved budgetary and target objectives set by the company through efficient planning, analyising and initiation of corrective measures. I strongly believe none of which can be achieved without the right team. The key to the success of any business is having the right people in the right roles.
It is because of this belief that after almost ten years in retail management I decided to make an exciting career move into the recruitment industry. Initially I joined Morgan McKinley's Office Support division, La Crème where I progressed to Senior Consultant. I recruited for both office support and legal positions on a temporary, contract and permanent basis. Now Team Lead of Dublin's Accountancy & Finance contracts desk I'm still utilising all the skills I gained from my experience in retail management.
