The best advice I can give any candidate is to over prepare. Always ensure you have researched the company and their core values to show that you are taking a keen interest in your potential future employers. If possible get a feel for the person who is conducting the interview as well as the culture of the company you are interviewing for. You never know what interests or history you may have in common, and in today's market, culture fit tends to be as important as actual skill.
Prior to working with Morgan McKinley I obtained a Civil Law degree from NUIG and I spent a decade working in the service industry, particularly in 5 Star hotels.
