As Q3 comes to a close, our specialist recruitment teams have provided insight into the jobs market within HR.

In this Quarter 3 Review, we will be looking at; an overview of the HR jobs market in general, the most frequent roles placed across the country, the highest paying roles our specialists have placed and some workplace insights surrounding flexibility, workplace wellness and workplace benefits.

Job flow was unusually slow for September throughout Ireland within the HR market. The most common roles available were recruitment based roles.  There is a significant shortage of Compensation and Benefits Specialists on the market. Traditionally this discipline fell under the HR Generalist remit however, it is now viewed as a key role within organisations and specialists who also have a good knowledge of pensions is a great advantage. The HR market has also seen a significant change in the area of counter offers, moving from financial rewards to work/life balance.  Notably, many employees are remaining in their roles as they are being offered the opportunity to work from home.

Workplace Insights


HR Business Partner roles offer more flexibility at a senior level. Some trends which are emerging to accommodate flexibility include flexible working arrangements such as working from home and finishing early.

Workplace Wellness

Workplace wellness is a big priority in HR and a huge focus on HR agendas. HR candidates can now choose where they want to work and engagement initiatives are a big influencer for the ‘Z’ generation in particular. Some innovative initiatives which are increasingly commonplace include free weekly yoga classes, free health screenings and flu vaccinations as well as volunteer days and free healthy snacks on site.


Some benefits which are seen consistently in the market include pensions, healthcare, company phone/car, dental care, gym membership, holiday vouchers and free food at hangout areas.
