What are accounting career bootcamps?

As a consultancy it's important for us to engage not just with professionals who are looking for a new job but with those who would benefit from some career advice and may not be looking for a new job right now. Professionals who may be planning a move in the future or looking to plan their next internal move and would like to figure out what path to take to reach their ultimate career goals.

To this end Morgan McKinley Dublin are holding their fifth career bootcamp of 2012 on July 12th.

Here's a few questions answered on what's involved in our bootcamps:

What does a career bootcamp involve?

Well, it is not people in army uniforms with a loud speaker screaming career advice at you!  This career bootcamp will be held in our offices in Dublin where between six and ten qualified accounting consultants sit down in 30 min slots and offer impartial objective advice on:
1) CV preparation
2) Interview preparation
3) Career planning
4) Sector information
Or, whichever mix of the above is most appropriate to the you. It is about answering your questions, giving you advice and getting you thinking a little more about your future. If you want to talk about specific roles at a later date, you can contact us directly or arrange a follow up meeting with a the suitable consultant on the evening.

Who would benefit most from attending a career bootcamp?

We have tailored these events to recently qualified accountants.  We feel that this is probably the largest audience and the one that will get the most value from the experience.

Can I come along even if I am not looking for a job?

Absolutely – this is not only about getting a job, it's about gathering information so that you can make better, more informed decisions regarding your career.

So how much does this cost?

It costs nothing but time - ours and yours!

What's in it for us?

It gives us an opportunity to keep our ear to the ground in the accounting community. People who have a good experience at the bootcamps tend to come back to us over time to look for relevant positions.  We are delighted to be in a position to provide impartial, honest advice and feedback to people to make sure they have the information they need to make the right choices for their future.
