For the last number of years, consultants from the supply chain team have attended the UCD Supply Chain Careers Fair at the Michael Smurfit School of Business. This year was no different. My colleague Jack and I were delighted to be invited to meet the students of this year's MSc. in Supply Chain Management on Tuesday last.
Jack and I spent the afternoon chatting to current students and recent graduates, offering career advice and market information, supply chain CV guidance and to discuss potential opportunities in supply chain. The afternoon which was organised by both the careers department and class representatives which gave students the opportunity to ask questions, portray their career ambitions and make important connections.
The course, which has been running since 2003, extends beyond traditional purchasing, planning, and logistics to the design and management of the complex relationships that are required to deliver products to customers. Each year the interest in the course is growing and it was great to meet so many enthusiastic students who have a bright future within supply chain.
The event was also attended by some excellent companies such as Dell, PWC, Perrigo, Lidl, Verizon and Apple who offer attractive positions to graduates.
We would like to thank Donna Marshall, Head Supply Chain Lecturer for inviting us to such a successful event and look forward to next year's one already!
