Morgan McKinley 27.06.2013

Dublin 27 June, Leading global recruitment services provider, Morgan McKinley today released its first series of global trend reports providing market intelligence to career movers and business managers.

Morgan McKinley conducted international research with its consultants in up to nine markets to identify business talent requirements and provide career focused advice across Risk & Compliance, Finance & Accounting and Technology. The reports span three months of qualitative research, gathering anecdotal evidence and feedback from conversations with industry.

The reports capture the mood of each sector, what career movers can expect, where recruitment is focused and key growth drivers.

Ireland Highlights:

  • Risk & Compliance professionals are becoming more specialised as the increasing threat of fraud drives demand across banking, insurance, industrial enterprises and the public sector.
  • Within Finance & Accounting specialist areas in demand are change and project management, cost accounting and strategic financial IT systems. Retaining experienced talent will be a challenge for businesses as the market becomes more buoyant and candidates seek new opportunities.
  • Technology professionals with data centre management and mobile technologies experience are in high demand, as are developers and quality assurance (QA) engineers for software and online development projects. The scarcity of talent in Ireland will see many employers turn to the European talent pool. On a positive note a new generation of locally educated talent will start to enter the market as a number of IT conversion courses have been heavily subscribed.

Karen O’Flaherty, Chief Operations Officer, Morgan McKinley Ireland commented:

“These reports are a must-read for business managers and their teams, who can too often spend time looking at the world from inside their organisations as they respond to short-term pressures. The reports provide an efficient way to gain an overview of what’s happening now in their industry and the key drivers for growth.

“The reports are intended to assist business and hiring managers to anticipate, plan, search and attract the right talent to meet evolving business requirements. For career movers the trend reports highlight how changing commercial, technology and regulatory needs will influence the recruitment process. Career movers committed to up-skilling in their speciality and acquiring ancillary or support skills will succeed in the current market.

“The reports have gathered detailed local market information across eight countries to deliver concise recruitment and career focused advice, and importantly pinpoints likely future talent requirements in a number of industry sectors. Our network of consultants are constantly engaged in dialogue with industry and the reports reflect a number of themes that consistently re-surfaced during these conversations.”

The Global Trend Reports contain detailed country-by-country insight from Morgan McKinley’s specialist consultants on hiring trends, talent supply and anticipated talent requirements.
