Finance Opportunities in Medical Devices on the Rise

Niall Harris 03.04.2019

Medical Devices has become one of the most prevalent and discussed industries in the West of Ireland today, with manufacturers based in Ireland exporting €6.8bn of product annually and employing over 25,000 people.

A strong March has given us a promising insight into what to expect for the rest of the year in the area of recruitment.

Heading into Q2, we are seeing a notable increase in the number of jobs in the medical devices sector particularly within Accounting and Finance. The market has become increasingly buoyant over the last number of months with different variations of Accounting and Controllership roles coming to the forefront. The majority of these roles have generous bonus and benefits schemes attached, with salaries typically paying above the average market rate.

Medical devices is one of the most rapidly expanding industries in Ireland today, particularly in the Western region with a significant collection of manufacturers located in close proximity to Shannon Airport and other suitable transport networks. With the sector expected to see a compound annual growth rate of 4.5% per year globally, we predict a continued increase in the number of open positions for the coming year.

As market leaders in accountancy and finance within the sector, Morgan McKinley currently have a number of open roles, as well as a pool of high calibre candidates who are actively seeking new careers. If you are a potential candidate or client looking for more information on any of the above, please feel free to contact me directly.
