An Award Winning Week For Tyco...

Andrea Daly 09.02.2016

With great enthusiasm, Tyco attended the Cork Chamber Company of the Year Awards which took place at the Cork Chamber Annual Dinner on Friday, 5th February. Tracey O’Mahony, Tyco Cork’s HR Manager, has kindly shared with us her thoughts on the night’s events…

Close to 1000 people attended the annual black tie event where a number of awards were presented to honour companies that are excellent examples of the quality of talent that the Cork region hosts. The awards celebrate the best of Cork businesses across four categories including the SME category, Emerging Category, Retail Category and Large Category.

Tyco were nominated in the large firm category up against some exceptionally well reputable companies.  They were Laya Healthcare, the second largest provider of private health insurance in Ireland and EPS Group an industry leading water infrastructure support services group of companies.

Reaching the finals was a wonderful achievement for Tyco and a recognition of our talented & diverse staff.  Tyco’s Global Headquarters is now based in Cork and the number of staff in the Cork office has increased from 25 to over 200.  We have recruited across all functions including HR, IT, R&D, Finance and Procurement and our numbers continue to grow.

We are honoured to have won the Large Firm Category and then a further surprise and privilege to have also won the coveted “Company of the Year Award”.  It was a great achievement for Tyco, as it also marked the day that the company officially moved to its new offices at Ireland’s smartest building at One Albert Quay
