Hear first-hand, what it was like to relocate to Ireland from Monika Bannon, Multilingual Consultant for Morgan McKinley, Dublin

On the pages that follow you can find out everything you need to know about living and working in Ireland. Here’s ten reasons why we think it’s a great place to call home.

  • Opportunity: Ireland came top in the Good Country Index’s “Equality and Prosperity” category.
  • Employment: if you are an EU or EEA national you have an automatic right to work in Ireland. If you are from another country and have special skills, you’ll have no trouble getting a work permit.
  • Living standards: Incomes are rising. Ireland is one of the ten richest countries in the world.
  • Holidays: four weeks’ paid holiday plus public holidays is the legal minimum.
  • Language: English is our language but there are huge opportunities for people fluent in other languages.
  • Family friendly: Ireland has one of the best educational systems in the world.
  • Town & country life: Ireland’s cities are exciting cultural centres and you are never far from beautiful countryside and coastlines.
  • Daily culture: the Irish are welcoming and friendly ways and the social life (the craíc) is great!
  • A good night’s sleep: Ireland is a peaceful country and the weather is mild.
  • Sense of humour: although Ireland is a great little country, we hide our pride behind a “self-deprecating” wit.
