HR was one of the areas of a business to be cut during the economic collapse of the past six years. It was considered a 'non-earning' department. However, I have seen a change of attitude to HR in recent times with companies gradually increasing their investment in personal development. I believe IBEC's statement will reinforce this change. In an expanding economy companies will once again recognise the value of actively engaging with and training their employees.
