Job Description

My client, a global organization based inCork, is currently recruiting for a Software Engineer to join their expanding technical team.

The Software Engineer will be responsible for design, coding, testing, delivery and documentation on new and existing software projects and systems. As part of a team you will be required to undertake programming tasks primarily using .NET C# & VB.NET. The role will require you to have a flexible and open approach to IT without any overall dependency on single technologies.

Requirements:

  • Min 3 years commercial development experience
  • In depth knowledge and experience in C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, Ajax/JavaScript, XML, jQuery/DOM, SQL, IIS 6.0 & 7.0, SQL Server 2008 & TSQL
  • Development & Deployment against Windows Server 2008 platform
  • Experience with .Net web application development up through to .Net 4.0
  • Extensive experience with Object-oriented analysis, programming, design and test
  • Experience of CMS systems
  • Experience of support and development of high performance web applications to produce websites that are attractive, compelling and easy to navigate and use
  • Knowledge of Java, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Photoshop, Illustrator, Mocking Frameworks and Agile methodologies is advantageous

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure timely delivery and development of high quality software systems
  • To ensure that all development is tested, documented and coded to agreed standards and principles
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product and application related issues
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a dynamic work environment
  • Learn new and keep abreast of existing technologies and apply to a variety of projects as required
  • Providing estimates and timings to project managers as required
  • Able to plan workload effectively, taking into account dependencies of code and/or components being worked on by other team members in a collaborative project environment
