Job Description
Job Title: Forecasting Analyst - Permanent - Cork
Large Irish organisation with a headcount of approx 1200 based in Cork is now hiring for a Forecasting Analyst to join the commerical team.
Overall Job Purpose: The successful candidate will provide medium to long-term forecasts across all business areas. They will work both internally and externally with multiple departments to developing relationships and increase their profile to ensure demand forecasts are kept up to date with all impacts accounted for. This position will be responsible for the analysis of the key factors driving staffing and labor costs. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently are essential for this function.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Delivery of Service Level Agreements
- Support finance by providing forecast information in a timely manner
- Own the forecasting process and work with the key stakeholders to ensure forecast accuracy and deadline delivery.
- Develop, implement, and manage a collaborative forecasting process that collects and reconciles information from diverse sources into a single unified statement of demand.
- 'Actual to Budget Forecast, Variance explanations, and ratio/trend reports.
- Maintain accuracy to within +/- 5%
Profitability of Business Unit
- Review forecast accuracy and ensure forecasts going forward are refined to ensure the ability to keep staffing at optimum levels
- Work with Scheduling analysts to ensure they are aware of the forecasts and what assumptions have been used to allow for greater decision making across the team
- Help drive analysis for initiatives to identify areas to add value.
- Develop in conjunction with our reporting team regular reports/updates for internal and external management team.
Team development
- Work with new team members to help in their development
- Ensure all team members are aware of new processes in your area
- Help to develop new best practice in forecasting.
Continuous Improvement
- Continually communicate with the widerResource Planningand Operational Management team to ensure they are aware of all issues that may effect the forecasts in the future
- Open lines of communication with the operations team to review upcomingeventsthat may impact on call volumes
- Continually reviewing forecasting practices to increase efficiency of the business
- To liaise with various internal and external Sales, Marketing and PR departments to develop relationships that will help ensure required information is available and impact analysis is provided.
- Recommend forecasting and process changes within and beyond the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Experience, Qualifications & Training required or desired:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a forecasting role.
- Advanced abilities in Excel essential
- A business degree in forecasting or statistical analysis desired
- Experience in managing and manipulating data.
- Expertise in creating forecast reports, forecasting project trends.
- ERP (EnterpriseResource Planning) / DDMRP (Demand Driven Material Requirement Planning) experience would be an advantage.
- Experience with Access, programming or specific forecasting tools would be an advantage.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, to prioritize and to multitask while meeting deadlines
