Job Description
Description:
As an EMEA PSD Business Intelligence Lead you will provide SAS consulting services, including solution development, implementation and closeout at customer sites. You will develop applications for internal use; design, implement, and present customer prototype; build applications development tools and oversee the technical progress of ongoing services.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Implementing prototypes for use in sales situations and site visits.
• Developing and maintaining internal applications.
• Developing, testing, and implementing software applications for internal and external customers; taking direction from the technical lead or project manager as assigned.
• Reviewing and editing documentation for consulting projects, the Education Division and other divisions as needed.
• Providing reliable delivery of targeted project results through role as expert in the application of specific SAS methodologies, products and technologies.
• Assisting in scoping and defining work efforts, resource plans, and estimating cost on phases/projects.
• Participating in project requirements gathering.
• Preparing and presenting materials for site visits, project work, and training services.
• Contributing to service delivery effectiveness through the consistent application of Best Practices as specified by project plans.
• Providing input to project team to define scope and work effort for assigned tasks; and
• Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; with
• 5 years of technical sales, systems engineering, project management, applications development and/or customer support experience
Additional
• Strong working knowledge of the SAS9 Platform
• Basic experience administering a SAS9 environment; with a minimum of 2 years experience working within a SAS 9.1.3 environment
• Sound Base SAS programming skills
• Experience and knowledge with many of the following products or technologies
- OLAP technology
- SAS Management Console
- Information Map Studio
- Data Integration Studio
- Web Report Studio
- Information Delivery Portal
- Stored Processes
- Installation and Configuration
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools and technologies
• Strong facilitation and communications skills
• Knowledge and experience with project management documentation such as schedules and project plans
• Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of software or applications development life cycle
• Ability to conceptualize clients' needs and translate into specific implementation strategies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferences
• Hands on expertise gathering requirements, designing, building, and implementing Business
Intelligence applications
• Basic familiarity with SAS in a Linux environment (preferably Redhat Linux)
• Basic experience administering the SAS Servers within the SAS 9 Intelligence Platform
• Working knowledge of application servers such as BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, and JBoss
