Architecture Consultant - Technical Architect - Enterprise Architect - Business Intelligence Architect
Description
As an EMEA Architecture Consultant will be responsible for the following:
Takes full responsibility for the definition, scope and selection of appropriate components, methods and working practices for the architecture of the solution to meet business requirements. Performs a challenging range and variety of complex architectural or professional work activities. Undertakes work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts. Understands the relationship between own specialism and wider customer/organisational requirements.
Responsible for establishing and specifying the appropriate levels of quality, change control and technology risk management processes to be used within the project and to be highlighted to clients during pre-sales and producing the technology risk matrix for the project. Responsible for assuring that appropriate reviews and checkpoints are identified in the project and/or engagement.
Works under broad direction. Is fully accountable for own technical work and/or project/supervisory responsibilities. Work is often self-initiated.
Influences organisation, customers, suppliers and peers on the Architecture and how the Architecture meets the business requirements across functional, non-functional and service domains. Develops business relationships with customers. Identifies improvements within own organization. Identified white papers and initiatives that will improve product, sales or services messaging.
The applicant will need a broad as well as deep range of skills in the following areas to be able to competently create robust architectures and solutions :
- Multiple Operating systems e.g. Unix, windows, Mainframe, Security models
- Web services and Web architectures
- Storage solutions
- Integration technologies
- SAS technologies or similar BI technologies
- Corporate IT standards
- Service Management
- Emerging technologies: e.g. Service orientated architectures; cloud computing, SaaS, pervasive computing
And have experience in at least two of the following:
- Risk Architectures
- CRM technologies
- Business intelligence and business insight
- Data Management
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or quantitative field; with
- 5 years of experience in an architecture role i.e. enterprise architect, solution architecture, technical architect and/or architecture consultant.
Equivalency
- Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
Additional
- Excellent working knowledge of at least one operating system.
- Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with users with various technical backgrounds.
- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Travel 60% or as business needs dictate.
Preferences
- Public speaking experience such as presenting papers or classroom teaching.
- Experience with SAS.
