Excellent Opportunity for Experienced Sustainability Manager, based in Cork

Salary 60K to 70K, plus excellent bonus and benefits.

The Sustainability Manager is responsible for delivering specialist knowledge to the business and driving increased capability within the organisaation across all elements of sustainability

Key responsibilites

• Provide expertise and leadership in the area of sustainability, energy and the green agenda;
• Lead the development and implementation of an overall strategy for the business relating to sustainability;
• Develop an overall carbon management strategy including key metrics
• Drawing on international systems, develop a mechanism to calculate our carbon footprint at product level;
• Develop sustainability targets and establish goals for the business in the relevant areas;
• Identify, drive and implement cost saving initiatives
• Ensure that sustainability considerations regarding growth plans are fully considered and understood by the business
• Development of best practice strategy in the area of sustainability, carbon footprint and the green agenda in line with the business requirements and deliver as per plan.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Third level degree and/or masters qualification in a relevant discipline
• 7 + year's experience in a similar role at a senior level.
• Strong technical knowledge in the area of carbon footprint, green agenda and sustainability.
• Up to date knowledge of current trends and sectoral challenges pertaining to the area of sustainability within the dairy food manufacturing sector;
• Proven working relationship with people
• Good influencing skills;
• Confident and optimistic with positive energy and drive to meet targets and achieve results.
• Strong business acumen and commercial aware.
• Analytical and problem solving skills to resolve issues in a timely manner.
